About Us

We are an outreach branch of the University of Tennessee, providing services and opportunities to the residents of Carter County.

We are funded through a cooperative agreement between federal, state and county governments. All of our programs
are offered to all eligible persons regardless of race, color, age, national origin, sex or disability and we are an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Moore County is located in Middle Tennessee, about an hour and a half south of Nashville.  With an area of 129 square miles, Moore County is the second smallest county in the state.  In 1988, the county seat of Lynchburg and the county government consolidated into The Metropolitan Government of Lynchburg, Moore County, Tennessee, making it one of only three metropolitan governments in the state.  Moore County has a rich agrarian heritage as well as a history imbibed in the whiskey industry.

In Order to comply with federal, state, and county requests, the UT Extension Moore County is currently OPEN in Phase 3 with limited Public Clientele due to COVID-19. We are socially distancing as requested. If you would like to come in call and make an appointment with one of our agents.
